One afternoon, while I was changing my youngest daughter's diaper, my oldest daughter walked in and asked me to tell her a story. Being occupied with a toddler and her diaper, naturally that was the story I told her. To my surprise, she loved it and asked me to tell it over and over again. So, I did. Over time I added to the story, refined it, and eventually even illustrated it.
This is the final result of that afternoon's storytelling. I hope that you and your own young children enjoy this simple, loving story.
One interesting fact about this story is that it takes me about as long to recite as it takes me to change a diaper. That's how the story is most often told at my house.
